Initial Examination:

Before the start of Tooth implantation procedure, A comprehensive examination is done. This will include Dental and Medical Examination, Dental X-rays , measurement of the teeth to make a study model. In some cases of 3D scans are also required to understand the quality of the bone and the location of nerves and Sinuses that need to be avoided during the surgery.

Phase 1 – Surgical Phase (Placement of Dental Implant)

Most of the Dental Implant procedures are done under Local Anesthesia. After the area is numb, the dentist makes an incision (cut) in the gums, to expose the underlying bone. A Hole is the Drilled in the bone depending upon the size of the Dental Implant to be inserted. The dental implant is then implanted into the jawbones and the gums are then closed with help of sutures (Stitches)

Waiting period for bone growth:

Once the dental Implantation is done , the jawbone grows into and starts to unite with the surface of the dental implant. This process is known as Osseointegration. This process takes 3-6 months, thus providing a solid base for the new artificial tooth — just as roots do for natural teeth.

Phase 2 – Restorative Phase (Placement of Dental Crown)

Once the healing Period (Osseointegration) is complete, an abutment is placed on the dental Implant. This post like thing is the one that connects the dental implant to the new crown. After placement of the abutment, impression is made of the teeth and sent for fabrication of new crown. The new crown is cemented on the abutment and is ready to be used as a natural tooth.
